Assessment will be blended assignments moderated and evaluated by EDF. The assessment of EDF Awards is at unit level and there will be no overall grading but Certificate or the Diploma will be only awarded after successful completion of the course demonstrating adequate and satisfactory knowledge on the subject.

For all EDF Awards, assessments are completed through the submission of internally set and assessed assignments. To achieve a pass marks for a unit, a learner must have successfully achieved all the assessment criteria for that unit. There are no externally set written examinations attached to any unit.

An assignment can relate to a single unit or may incorporate more than one unit in an integrated assignment provided the content of the assignment is clearly mapped to show which assessment criteria from which units are being covered.

EDF has developed a range of assessment approaches that will engage learners and give them an opportunity to both demonstrate their knowledge and in-depth understanding of a topic as well as evaluate how they might apply that skills in a given context. EDF prefers creative assessment methods that demonstrates the real and practical knowledge of the deliverable skills.

Although each EDF award is a standalone qualification, they can also be used as stepping stones towards a higher EDF award in the same suite or as prior learning.
